St Cuthbert died in 687 A.D. on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. St. Cuthbert's pectoral cross is one of the few treasures that survived from the shrine. It was made of gold and set with garnets. This drawing features only the colour of the garnets, with the remainder left black and white.
